I’d always wanted to visit Englewood on Chicago’s South Side, and “cover” a typical afternoon summer afternoon there. A typically non-sensational, dramatic day. I wanted to do it in a hybrid style, half Wild Chicago, half Huell Howser (a long time California TV journalist whose relaxed style always appealed to me.) I wanted long, continuous takes (aha!) where we let things just happen.
