Admission number one: I chose the title, “My Last Words,” as an attention getter. If my words brought up the idea of death, well, so be it. Welcome to The So-Be-It Union. Death can be a real waker-upper.
And if I had to cop to this brazen means of trying to get you to read/watch these things, I would do it. Which I did. And that’s what happened. Which led to my re-naming the video series Not My Last Words.
See, it’s funny, but rigorous honesty, some believe, is going to happen eventually, whether we like it or not. Kind of like a God’s Will thing. If it’s meant to be, it’s gonna happen. One way or another. And certainly not on a time schedule of my making. In this case, Celeste’s message and suggestion created the space for Truth to emerge. How cool is that? I actually like the new title better anyway. It’s honest, yes. And, it’s more entertaining, more interesting, more…attention-getting?
And here’s another bit of synchronicity (a first cousin to Living Rigorously Honestly.) The cat in the Talk Story Bookstore is also named Celeste! I hadn’t seen that before! No kidding. And the reason those folks were even in Kauai running a bookstore in the first place was Rigorous Honesty. They listened to themselves, to the small, still voice that told them they should forget their original honeymoon plans, and just stay in Kauai. I’m sure they had their scary times. And I’m not even sure where they are today. But we can certainly, just for today, celebrate their willingness to listen to, and obey, that Voice that suggested the thing that perhaps scared them the most.
Have you got a story like this? I’d love to hear it.
